On a normal Friday or Saturday, the underground room rarely produces a famous club queue. A ticketed drag, burlesque or live-music show can create a short check-in rush, so arrive near doors if seating matters. Confirm that a public event is actually running before travelling; the venue also closes for private bookings

Best night

Choose the performer, not simply Saturday. The space is strongest when drag, cabaret, burlesque or a local music bill gives the intimate room a purpose. Without a produced event it is a quieter lounge, useful for drinks but not a substitute for Twisted's full dance-floor scale.

Locals vs visitors

LGBTQ+ locals, performers, creative friends and a genuinely mixed audience rather than one narrow gay-male lane. The venue's own description stresses diversity, and earlier programming included family-accessible hours before 21:00. Exact age and identity balance changes with the act more than with the day.

Dress code in practice

Smart casual, expressive night-out clothes or simple jeans all work; no current official appearance code is published. Dress for a basement performance rather than bottle-service theatre. A themed producer may invite glamour, but that is an event cue, not a standing rule.
