Bar · Old Breweries Building, 48 Tal Street, Windhoek Central, Namibia · 4 saved sources
The old Warehouse Theatre complex is now a large industrial brewpub and live-event space with several rooms, a broad local crowd and a history that still matters to queer Windhoek. A rainbow crossing was painted outside during Namibia Pride, and the complex has hosted Pride Pop-Up, Kings of Namibia and 2026's House of Rainbows. On an ordinary night it is a mixed city bar, not a permanent gay venue; on the right organiser's date, it becomes one of the capital's most visible queer rooms.

Bar · Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre, 118 Robert Mugabe Avenue, Windhoek, Namibia · 4 saved sources
The open-air performance room at the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre is one of Windhoek's most useful programme-led queer addresses. Drag Night Namibia brought Motown glamour here in March 2026, the Pride Kiki Ball filled it with ballroom in June, and FNCC followed with an LGBTQIA+ film series in July. Outside those dates it belongs to a wider arts centre, so check the title on the calendar rather than assuming every evening carries the same crowd.

Hotel · 18 Liliencron Street, Eros, Windhoek, Namibia · 5 saved sources
A landscaped Eros compound combining boutique suites, workspaces, restaurants, courtyards and a weekly Sunday market. Equal Namibia has identified The Village as part of its Verified Safe-Space network, while current guests describe the complex as both calm and socially alive. It is not queer-exclusive, but it offers something Windhoek badly needs: an attractive daytime place where a coffee, market browse, short stay or first meeting does not require a nightlife plan.

Restaurant · Shop 13, Maerua Mall, Jan Jonker Road and Centaurus Street, Windhoek, Namibia · 4 saved sources
A lively Italian-leaning cafe and late lounge inside Maerua Mall, and one of the few Windhoek businesses with a public, independently documented LGBTQI+ safe-space commitment. Equal Namibia and Drag Night Namibia inaugurated it into the Verified Safe-Space network in 2024. Come for an easy meal, cocktails or Tuesday trivia rather than expecting a dedicated gay bar; the room stays mixed and its value is that queerness does not need a special event to be welcome.
Related options are included only where the exact local category is thin. They are labelled separately and are not counted as exact matches.
District read
The useful map is a loose central triangle. Windhoek Central holds Brewers Market on Tal Street, FNCC and Le Roof on Robert Mugabe Avenue, and The Project Room nearby on Crohn Street. Eros adds The Village and Zest around Liliencron Street; Maerua Mall, farther south, holds Piccolo. Windhoek West is the practical community-services lane, with Out-Right Namibia, Positive Vibes and other organisations. These points are not one walkable strip. Plan one cluster at a time and use a direct ride after late events.
Practical safety read
Consensual same-sex intimacy was decriminalised by Namibia's High Court in June 2024, but the legal and social picture remains uneven. Namibia does not perform same-sex marriages, the Marriage Act 2024 defines marriage and spouse in opposite-sex terms, and comprehensive orientation- and gender-identity protections remain limited. Windhoek is more connected and visible than much of the country, yet local organisations still document hostility. Keep public affection measured when the room is unclear, meet app contacts in public, share the ride home and use 10111 for police emergencies.

Exact category fit comes first. Queer Atlas then considers listing detail, official links, saved sources, community review signal, date relevance for events, and practical location information. A high position is an editorial shortlist, not a guarantee of safety or personal fit.
