Venue Detail
Midnight Sun
About this venue
Once a windowless plumbing warehouse, Midnight Sun made queer history as the nation's premier video bar—launching right alongside MTV to beam music videos and cult sit-coms straight into the hearts of the neighborhood. Bookending that history in 2011 by becoming the last Castro bar to finally install massive open glass windows, it has shed its secretive past for complete, sunny visibility. Today, it’s a high-visibility, neon-tinted lounge where massive TV screens drop pure pop culture nostalgia, go-go boys shake up the weekends, and locals cluster for the most aggressive "two-for-one" drink specials in the city.
