Venue Detail
Rise Bar
About this venue
Rise Bar is one of those small-ish Hell's Kitchen rooms that ends up mattering because it is so easy to use. Karaoke, drag brunches, mixed crowd, and just enough late-night dancing to keep the room from feeling like a pure sit-down bar make it a strong opener or all-night fallback. Friendly, energetic, and usually fuller than its size should allow.

Venue intelligence
Know before you go
Typical queue
Rise is easy near opening but tightens for weekend drag brunch, Sport-Tea and late DJ hours. Brunch has set seatings at 12:15 and 2:30; reserve rather than gambling on a walk-in, and arrive before a popular show for a usable view.
Best night
Monday musicals, Tuesday bingo and karaoke, Wednesday drag and Sunday Sport-Tea each have a distinct social hook. Weekend brunch is the strongest daytime choice; Friday and Saturday until 4am are the fuller dance-bar version.
Locals vs visitors
Hell’s Kitchen gay men anchor the room, with drag-brunch groups, tourists, local regulars and mixed queer friends changing the balance by programme. Sport-Tea leans social and male; brunch and comedy broaden the table mix.
Dress code in practice
Polished casual, gym-to-bar basics and expressive drag-brunch looks all work. There is no stated selector code. Dress for the programme: comfortable standing shoes late, or a brighter seated-brunch look if that is the event you booked.
Staff inclusion
Rise programmes queer performers across drag, comedy and hosting throughout the week rather than treating inclusion as a Pride-only slogan. For a busy brunch, booking and telling the host about access or seating needs in advance produces more useful support.
