Venue intelligence
Know before you go
Typical queue
If you roll up right at the 10:00 PM opening slot, entry is standard and fast. However, because it boasts a tight, hyper-intimate subterranean capacity, entry lines bottleneck heavily along Colfax between 11:30 PM and 1:15 AM on weekends.
Best night
Use a current Friday or Saturday flyer; do not assume regular service on an unadvertised weekday.
Locals vs visitors
An incredibly rich, beautifully integrated mix of alternative inner-city youth, house and techno music purists, local drag fanatics, and progressive club kids.
Dress code in practice
Fiercely expressive, casual, and highly artistic.
Staff inclusion
Exceptionally high marks across the local Colfax scene. Shared with the seasoned X Bar management empire, the technical stage handlers, frontline bar staff, and security hosts are noted for being hyper-vigilant, warm, and highly professional.
