Venue intelligence
Know before you go
Typical queue
Flicks gets properly busy once its main crowd arrives. Entry is usually simpler before the late peak; after that, allow extra time for the door and bar.
Best night
Use Flicks' programme to choose karaoke, a DJ, drag or a watch party; Sunday begins earlier than weekdays.
Locals vs visitors
Hillcrest LGBTQ regulars, video-bar visitors, singers and later dancers mix differently according to the listed event.
Dress code in practice
Casual dance or karaoke clothing works; valid government ID and compliance with the published bag check matter more than styling.
Staff inclusion
Flicks is an LGBTQ Hillcrest bar and publishes 21+ ID and bag checks; current staff should handle access, safety or event-specific questions.
