ICON Astoria is Queens’ high-energy answer to the Manhattan club scene, located in the heart of Astoria. It’s a neighborhood staple where the vibes transition from a laid-back local lounge during the week to a full-throttle dance floor on the weekends, all under the watchful eye of a life-size Marilyn Monroe statue. The Queer Vibe: Glitz & Grit: The space is kitschy and glamourous, featuring Swarovski crystals, zebra-striped high heels over the bar, and plenty of neon. It’s "intimate but electric," holding about 150–200 people. Diverse Energy: As The New York Times once put it, the crowd "has everything"—husky bearded guys, dancy lesbians, Long Island muscle, and 20-somethings in tank tops. The Main Attraction: On weekends, the back "barn-like" dance floor erupts into a sea of bodies to pop anthems and '90s classics.
