Venue intelligence
Know before you go
Typical wait
Before 21:00 the café/bar is all ages; after 21:00 it is 21+ and physical government ID is required for alcohol. Peak events can add bag checks, so arrive before the listed start and leave weapons, self-defence items, drugs and outside food or drink behind.
Best time to visit
Choose by the live calendar: Trans Night Tuesday, queer dance parties, lesbian archive events, mixers, coffee chats and community formats serve different needs. Earlier hours support café conversation; Friday and Saturday can continue to 03:00.
Locals vs visitors
Queer and trans people across ages, lesbians, nonbinary guests, young adults, community groups and allies share the space. All-ages hours materially broaden the room before the nighttime age change.
What people wear
Come as yourself; expressive queer clothing and ordinary café wear both fit. Event themes may invite a look, but consent, boundaries and respecting identities and pronouns are the actual standing rules.
Staff inclusion
Queer owners Jo McDaniel and Rach Pike publish an explicit enthusiastic-consent culture and prioritise marginalised communities. The venue offers ASL for spoken/performance events, disables strobes, has a street-level ramp and two grab-bar restrooms, but no lift to the second floor.
