Rehoboth Beach

Rehoboth Beach compresses a surprising amount of queer life into a walkable seaside centre. Poodle Beach supplies the daytime landmark, Baltimore Avenue holds bars, restaurants and CAMP Rehoboth, and larger dance or fundraising events extend the season beyond midsummer. It is more mixed and smaller than Provincetown or Fire Island, but its civic visibility, community centre and long-running destination culture make it one of the Mid-Atlantic's most dependable queer escapes.

Know before you go

01

Local mood

A small beach town with an outsized queer identity: Baltimore Avenue, Poodle Beach and CAMP Rehoboth create an easy social triangle that becomes much busier on summer and holiday weekends.

02

Queer status

Rehoboth is a long-established LGBTQ+ resort destination with visible civic recognition, dedicated nightlife and year-round community infrastructure rather than a seasonal rainbow marketing exercise.

03

Crowd

Summer brings Washington, Baltimore and Philadelphia visitors, gay men, queer women, couples and multigenerational friend groups; quieter months reveal a close year-round coastal community.
