Venue Detail
Potent
About this venue
Potent is a Shanghai club with a broad rave-oriented programme and a queer-friendly reputation, but it is not a fixed-purpose queer venue every night. The useful choice is to read the current lineup: one evening may lean toward pop and a social main room, another toward harder electronic music and a much later crowd. Check the venue's live channel for entry, cover and any ID requirements before travelling.

Typical queue
Door pressure follows the lineup. Early arrival gives the best chance of a smoother entry and bar service.
Best night
Pick an announced queer-friendly promoter or a sound you like, not a generic weekend label.
Locals vs visitors
A mixed local and visiting club crowd, with queer guests most visible on relevant promoters and lineups.
Dress code in practice
Dance-ready, expressive clothes fit; choose comfort for a late indoor club rather than dressing to an assumed rule.
Staff inclusion
Queer-friendly reputation is programme-dependent; follow current venue rules and confirm practical access directly.
