Venue Detail
Escape Bar & Grill
About this venue
A Northeast Portland LGBTQ+ neighbourhood bar and grill known for karaoke, pool, drag, patio time and a less tourist-facing crowd. Its distance from downtown is part of the appeal for visitors seeking a community room where food and conversation matter as much as a dance floor.

Venue intelligence
Know before you go
Typical queue
Most nights are easy walk-ins; popular karaoke and drag can fill tables before they create any formal entrance line.
Best night
Choose a published karaoke, drag or community event for stronger energy; a weekday visit is better for food, pool and conversation with regulars.
Locals vs visitors
Northeast Portland locals, queer women, gay men, trans and non-binary guests, karaoke singers and mixed-age regulars create a neighbourhood rather than tourist crowd.
Dress code in practice
Everyday casual clothing fits. Bring practical layers for the patio and do not expect the appearance gate of a downtown nightclub.
Staff inclusion
Dedicated LGBTQ+ positioning and recurring queer programming provide direct evidence; confirm mobility and seating needs with the venue before a packed show.
