Venue Detail
Garage Sauna
About this venue
Honey, size isn't everything, and Garage Gay Sauna (formerly known to old-school travelers as Taragon Steam) is here to prove it. Tucked away discreetly behind a literal garage door threshold in the quiet residential Reduta district, this is an incredibly intimate, micro-sized pocket sanctuary. Capping out at a cozy maximum capacity of just 15 men, this isn't a massive European multi-floor mega-bathhouse—it serves hyper-focused, low-key anonymity. Inside, the layout keeps it completely straightforward: featuring a small social area where you can decompress with complimentary hot tea or coffee, a tight wet zone with showers, a steam room, and a couple of dark private cabins for personal connections.

Venue intelligence
Know before you go
Typical queue
Because the venue is heavily focused on absolute discretion, there are no public street lines. Administrative check-in at the front desk takes under 3 minutes.
Best night
Hit the buzzer right between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM on Friday or Saturday. Because of their early 9:00 PM closing time, the local crowd packs out the facilities right after standard work hours.
Locals vs visitors
Strictly an over-18, men-only facility. It pulls a highly unpretentious mix of everyday local Bulgarian men, neighborhood regulars, and curious international gay or bisexual travelers looking for a completely low-profile, quiet cruise.
Dress code in practice
Standard attire is safely tucked away into private lockers upon check-in. Guests navigate the social areas, steam room, and cabins in their provided towels or bare skin.
Staff inclusion
Secure and functional. Operating for over 15 years in a relatively conservative regional landscape, the venue acts as a necessary, protective indoor environment for local men. The management maintains basic hygiene standards and stocks standard health amenities.
