Venue Detail
CC Blooms
About this venue
Founded in 1994 and affectionately named after Bette Midler's iconic character in Beaches, "CC's" is the absolute Grand Dame and undisputed crown jewel of Edinburgh's Pink Triangle. Spanning a gorgeous, newly modernised split-level space right next to the Edinburgh Playhouse, it treats every day like a Saturday night. Upstairs operates as a bright, highly stylized daytime café, restaurant, and cocktail terrace. Downstairs, the venue descends into [LAB]—a legendary, high-octane basement nightclub packed with thumping pop anthems, thudding house sets, and the fiercest drag showcases in Scotland.

Venue intelligence
Know before you go
Typical queue
Medium mid-week, but exceptionally high on Friday and Saturday nights after 11:00 PM.
Best night
Sundays are an absolute community institution for their legendary, high-camp "Disgraceful" drag cabaret and mayhem kicking off from 8:00 PM, keeping the dancefloor packed all the way through a 5:00 AM license finish. Saturdays are also highly favored for their premium Boozy Brunches.
Locals vs visitors
A massive, bustling cross-section of the entire queer community. It famously acts as a critical incubator for top-tier Scottish drag superstars (including Drag Race UK winner Lawrence Chaney). Expect a lively mix of young clubbers, university students, local regulars, drag enthusiasts, and passing theater-goers.
Dress code in practice
Smart-casual to highly expressive. Creative clubwear and high-glam looks are highly visible, but there is one strict house rule to track: the door staff heavily enforce policies against sports jerseys, muddy athletic gear, or all-white dresses.
Staff inclusion
Superb inside the main bar area. Officially designated as an accommodating transgender safe space, the bartenders, floor servers, and resident entertainers are widely praised for running a deeply welcoming, inclusive, and protective environment.
