Most evenings are walk-in, but drag, Pride and grassroots socials can fill the indoor rooms before the garden. Arrive near the published start for a QPOC or non-binary gathering rather than treating it as a late club. The event may use its own signup.

Best night

Choose the host: a drag or cabaret date for performance, a community social for meeting people, or an ordinary early pub evening for low pressure. The first-Wednesday Pride edition and Trans Pride meetups show the venue at its most explicitly community-led.

Locals vs visitors

Queer and trans Old Market regulars, drag audiences, QPOC groups, neighbours, allies and a mixed pub crowd. Demographics can change almost completely with the organiser, which is a strength when read correctly and confusing when ignored.

Dress code in practice

Pub casual through full drag and expressive queer looks; no aesthetic gate. Dress for the garden and check whether a workshop or protected social has participation boundaries that matter more than clothes.

Staff inclusion

Repeated trans-friendly local recommendations and partnerships with Trans Pride and QPOC organisers are meaningful evidence. Inclusion still belongs to each event's practice, so use the organiser contact for access, privacy or identity-specific eligibility questions.
