SchwuZ
Berlin venue intelligence with route context, hours, and trusted local signal.
About this venue
Get ready, because Berlin’s oldest and most iconic queer institution is staging a major comeback! SchwuZ (short for SchwulenZentrum) has been the beating heart of the city’s queer culture since 1977. After a heartbreaking closure of its Neukölln home in late 2025 due to insolvency, the community refused to let the flame go out. Now, it’s officially returning as a nomadic party series while it searches for a new permanent "living room". The vibe is unapologetically diverse, political, and festive—a place where everyone from drag icons to techno heads finds their home. Vibe: Pure queer excellence. It’s famous for its "Cheers Queers" spirit and three distinct floors (historically pop, retro/disco, and electronic). Expect legendary drag shows, kitschy Schlager moments, and an inclusive crowd that spans every age and gender identity.
